Debt problems more complicated with mortgage arrears
Debt problems are more complicated today than ever due to the amount of people that are suffering mortgage arrears, which adds on to problems they are already experiencing with credit card and unsecured loan debts. With individuals being made redundant and facing a loss or income many cannot afford to maintain their mortgage repayments and fall into arrears which of course then leads to threats of repossession. One option to avoid this may be to sell property but of course, people are simply not buying and you are left with the problem of having to find alternative rental accommodation.
If you want to sell property and be able to remain in it by renting then you may want to look into a sale and rent back agreement. You may be able to sell your property and rent it back for a fixed period of time. However the downside is that usually you will not be offered the full value of the property. This needs to be weighed up alongside the fact that selling property this way typically comes with no fees.
You also have to consider other options open to you as a sale and rent back agreement may not be the most suitable solution.
